1. Marijuana is a sexual stimulant

It removes a person’s inhibitions. You are more likely to agree to have sex when you are stoned. You are also more likely to not use birth control while stoned. Sometimes people get others stoned to try to get them to have sex when they normally wouldn’t. If you are getting stoned with members of the opposite sex, be aware of this and realize that it can have this effect on you.

2. Compared to other drugs, Pot is not THAT dangerous.

Pot is not an addictive drug. For those who claim it is, anything is theoretically addictive, and there are some people who can become addicted to soda or lemonade. So to put it in perspective, Pot is less addictive than coffee. I have become addicted to coffee myself and have broken the habit. You get mild headaches for a few days. I have never had any symptoms for withdrawal from Pot.

3. On average, 30% of ALL high school sophomores (10th grade) have tried smoking weed

For some stupid reason, these kids think they’re so cool trying it. For goodness sakes, you’re only 15 or 16! At least be an adult when you make the decision to smoke weed.

4. Marijuana increases heart rate by 20–100 percent shortly after smoking

This effect can last up to 3 hours. In one study, it was estimated that marijuana users have a 4.8-fold increase in the risk of heart attack in the first hour after smoking the drug. This may be due to the increased heart rate as well as effects of marijuana on heart rhythms, causing palpitations and arrhythmias. This risk may be greater in aging populations or those with cardiac vulnerabilities.

5. Marijuana smoke contains 50–70 percent more carcinogenic hydrocarbons than  tobacco smoke

Marijuana users usually inhale more deeply and hold their breath longer than tobacco smokers do, which further increase the lungs’ exposure to carcinogenic smoke. Marijuana smokers show dys-regulated growth of epithelial cells in their lung tissue, which could lead to cancer; however, a recent case-controlled study found no positive associations between marijuana use and lung, upper respiratory, or upper digestive tract cancers. Thus, the link between marijuana smoking and these cancers remains unsubstantiated at this time.

Nonetheless, marijuana smokers can have many of the same respiratory problems as tobacco smokers, such as daily cough and phlegm production, more frequent acute chest illness, and a heightened risk of lung infections. A study of 450 individuals found that people who smoke marijuana frequently but do not smoke tobacco have more health problems and miss more days of work than nonsmokers. Many of the extra sick days among the marijuana smokers in the study were for respiratory illnesses.

6. Weed will cause short term memory loss

It’s harder to remember a 10 digit phone number. Beer causes the same memory loss as Pot. The effect is temporary and wears off completely.

7. Marijuana affects your self-control

Marijuana can seriously affect your sense of time and your coordination, impacting things like driving. In 2002, nearly 120,000 people were admitted to emergency rooms suffering from marijuana-related problems, an increase of more than 139 percent since 1995.

8. Pot heightens the imagination and creativity

Surprisingly enough, some people can come up with some pretty interesting things when high. Not all good, not all bad. It depends on the person.
