1st – 101010 (base two (binary)) equals 42 (base ten). Oddly enough, this is evenly divisible by the number of days in a week (7 (lucky)); and equally oddly, is also evenly divisible by the number 6 (which is generally designated as being unlucky). Both a Ying and Yang situation seem to be incorporated into this date.
10 (base ten) = 1010 (base two)
(base ten): 10 x 10 = 100
(base two): 10 x 10 = 100
The binary attributes of 101010 lends itself to use by the sciences of fractals (recursive geometric shapes) and chaos theory (the butterfly effect).
2nd – The number ten seems to give people that warm, fuzzy feeling:
“I won TEN thousand dollars!”
“I got TEN things done today.”
Then of course, there are the ever ubiquitous Top Ten lists. The top Top-Ten lists are (in no particular order):
Top Ten To Do, Top Ten Reasons, Top Ten Links/Websites, Top Ten Music/Songs, Top Ten Movies, Top Ten Headlines, Top Ten Jokes, Top Ten Mistakes, Late Show Top Ten, Top Ten Reviews/Lists.
3rd – Even when taking into account the differences between the Gregorian and Julian calendars:
Nothing significant appears to have happened a thousand years ago during the year 1010.
Nothing significant appears to have happened two thousand years ago during the year 10.
The Dark Ages spanned the 5th to 15th centuries (approximately 450 -1450).
4th – Artist Lee Cavaliere and designers Studio Condition are producing a one-day-only, live exploration of the number 10 at London’s Design Museum. Called “10:10:10”, the show starts at 10 minutes and 10 seconds past 10 on Sunday morning, and features all sorts of artworks, videos and exhibits, some created live, all based around the number 10. FORMULA has created 10 brand new pieces of music to accompany the event, each one lasting 100 seconds.

8th – The White House has gotten into the 10/10/10 global plan, by ordering solar panels.
9th – The idea to make 10/10/10 an international day of political action came from Bill McKibben, author and founder of an organization called 350.
10th – Rumours have spread across the internet that a computer virus will strike computers at 10:10am on 10 October 2010 (or, if you prefer, 10:10 10/10/10).
It’s just the kind of scare that people love to murmur about, and share with their online friends, but I’m afraid it has no basis in fact.
